Backsliding here at home

Mr. Yenta has had his blood tested every day except Sunday since this specialist-induced phlebitis flair-up and was moving right along…until yesterday. He was almost at goal on Saturday, but after his medication was duly reduced the number went way backwards over the weekend. So, we’re back to the doctor’s today and hoping that things are turning back around.

I haven’t been to work in over a week. It feels weird.  It feels kind of like a kind of limbo.   It must feel the same to Mr.  Yenta.  For one thing, he’s absolutely not allowed to drive, but has to see the doctor ever day.  He hates being driven places. He particularly hates it if I’m the one doing the driving.   We’ve both been driving for about forty years and I’m the one who’s never had a ticket. I can also get from point A to point B without engaging my middle finger most of the time. He considers the former as evidence  that I’m unnecessarily risk-averse and the latter as proof that of a lack of passion. Over this past week we’ve kind of worked out our differences in our respective approaches to the road, but I think we’ll both feel a lot better when we can get back to normal.

Passion? For driving? On US roads? BAH! Driving is drudgery…wasted time.

But, that said, here’s to hoping that you and Mr. Yenta are back to normal very soon, driving and all. Just hope Mr. Yenta and I don’t ever have a pedestrian to driver confrontation. I have passion…for pissing off aggressive drivers. 😉

I just noticed you added me to your blogroll. I can’t think of a higher honor a socialist like yourself could give me. I hope to win you over to the right side by the 2008 general election when John McCain is able to continue George Bush’s momentum for another four years.

That’s right, Nate. I blogrolled you because you’re a thoughtful sort of conservative. Also, you know how we liberals are about diversity. Gotta have it. Besides, the bleeding heart in me knows that you’re only rightwing because of some trauma in your early life. I don’t have any illusions about bringing you over from the dark side, but you never know.
